Grilled onions and cheddar cheese dress up hot dogs in this easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 6 beef franks
- 6 hot dog buns
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon oil
- mayonnaise
- deli style mustard
- barbecue sauce
- shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Slice 1 onion.
- Grill or fry 6 beef franks. While hot dogs are cooking, sauté onion in 1 tablespoon oil over medium heat until browned.
- If desired, heat 6 hot dog buns. Serve hot dogs with desired toppings (mayonnaise, deli style mustard, barbecue sauce, and shredded cheddar cheese).
Notes
Calories are based on one hot dog in a bun topped with 1 tsp. mayonnaise, ⅙ of the sautéed onion, and 1 Tbsp. shredded cheddar cheese.
