Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream
This traditional pecan pie is full of rich, syrupy pecans in a flaky homemade crust. It’s perfect right out of the oven or topped with vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup white corn syrup
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 uncooked pie crust
- ⅓ gallon vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a medium size bowl, beat 3 eggs thoroughly; add ¾ cup sugar, ¾ cup white corn syrup and ⅛ teaspoon salt; mix well.
- Chop ¼ cup butter into pieces. Add butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to other ingredients; stir until thoroughly blended.
- Place 1 cup pecans on bottom of 1 uncooked pie crust.
- Pour egg mixture over nuts.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 300°F and cook for 35 minutes.
- Serve with ⅓ gallon vanilla ice cream.
